In this episode of The Questionable Garage, Jared returns to the wild Lexus V8-swapped Ferrari-themed Toyota pickup project—affectionately known as the Tessterosa. After struggling with fitment issues from incompatible swap parts and bolt-in headers that don’t bolt in, he makes the difficult decision to tear the whole thing back apart and start fresh. Along the way, Jared rebuilds a starter, aligns the clutch, modifies the transmission mount, and fabricates a solution to make headers fit—by removing the control arms (which future Jared will definitely regret).
With tons of obstacles cleared, headers installed, the transmission mounted, and the custom driveshaft maybe ready to fit, the project finally starts to resemble something that might run. Jared reflects on the frustrations of complicated builds, the excitement of progress, and leaves us on a hopeful note—maybe the next episode is the first fire-up attempt.
The Tessterosa returns! In this episode of The Questionable Garage, Jared tackles a full reset on the wild Lexus 1UZ V8-swapped Ferrari-themed Toyota pickup build. After struggling with bad part fitment, wrong clutch pivots, and bolt-in headers that don’t, he rips it all back apart and rethinks everything. Watch as Jared rebuilds a starter, aligns the clutch, fabricates a custom transmission mount, and finally finds a way to make those headers fit—even if it means deleting the suspension (temporarily).
